Welcome to England and Preparing for Your Round of Golf
Well we made it to "other side of the pond", arriving around 3 pm on Wednesday after a 10 hour flight. Two stops along the way to pick up fuel, and one of the stops is my geography question for the day.
Are you ready? What country is the city of Gander located in, and what is the time difference between Gander and San Diego, California?
I will be amazed if you get them both correct, send me an e-mail and let me know your answers. If you get them both right, I will send you a little something special.
We already have had a few adventures to say the least and we have only been here a little over 24 hours.
One of them having to do with driving on the other side of the road and having rental cars with manual transmissions, I leave it to your imagination to fill in the rest of the story.
I woke up this morning around 7:30 (not bad for being 10 hours ahead of my normal time zone), feeling pretty good.
I know one of the tricks to getting over jet lag is getting on the time zone immediately and EXERCISE.
Yes, exercise!
It gets the blood flowing, wakes your body up, and really helps you acclimate.
So guess what I did this morning?
Like I do every morning, I went through my series of LOWER BACK FLEXIBILITY EXERCISES.
Once I finished up this simple routine of stretches which takes me about 5 minutes, my lower back was feeling good.
That's why I know you are going to really like my NEW Lower Back DVD for Golfers coming out later this week.
It is a simple series a lower back exercises to keep you feeling good, and they are the exact same exercises I use with the pros.
And what I am really excited about today is I am going to play my first true links course in England!
Yes, the owner of the home we are staying in is taking me out with a few of his golfing buddies for a round at Caldy Country Club.
He is picking me up at the house at 4:00 and our tee time is at 4:30. This tells me I am not going to have a lot of time to warm-up for my round.
What do you do when you are short on time to get ready for your round?
First Off I do a simple series of WARM-UP and FLEXIBILITY DRILLS.
This series of GOLF FITNESS EXERCISES take me literally 5 minutes to complete and gets me ready to play.
Rather than going to the range and trying to RIP my driver after 5 wedge shots. I find my body feels loose and I am ready to go after these exercises.
The quick and easy series of Warm-up Drills I use are a combination of exercises found in my Your Body & Your Swing manual.
I simply take and do a series of windmills, tops, hip rotations, and straight leg hamstring rotations.
Once I get through these SIMPLE exercises done, I feel loose enough to hit driver off the first tee.
The weather currently is sunny and in the low 70's but I know from experience the weather over here can change in a blink of the eye.
Make It Happen!
