I Recently Needed to Jump Start My Golf Fitness Program!

Explosive Club Head Speed

A BioForce Golf subscriber wrote me that he is very pleased with improvements in his golf swing he has gotten from his Your Body & Your Swing golf fitness program.

He was very excited that his club head speed has improved to a speed higher than it was in his early twenties!

I believe this gentleman is in his forties and stated that his club head speed is now between 105-107 mph, where in his twenties it was 95-100 mph.

I guess there is some truth about the connection between your body and swing! And how improving your body around the swing helps your game!

Go figure!

Another part of his e-mail described a struggle he has had adapting to his new-found power and club head speed.

A common occurrence in golf and other sports when you get the body revving at a higher RPM.

When the body is able become more explosive and athletic enabling it to swing faster, throw harder, or run faster, it takes time for the body to adapt to this new level of performance.

It takes time for the all the muscles, nerves, and your brain to regulate this new energy.

It is a process of the mechanics of your swing adapting to the ability of generating club head speed, not a bad problem to have, but one that does take a little time on the range.

Many of you will find this to be a situation where the body becomes more finely tuned, and is able to swing with more club head speed. But your swing and brain are used to a club head speed number of 95 mph.

Overall, the mechanics of swing that are regulated by your body and brain are unaccustomed to this new level of performance (like I said not a bad problem to have).

In time your brain and mechanics will “speed up” to accommodate the new club head speed you are able to generate it.

How do you get your mechanics in sync with a more explosive, athletic and powerful swing?

Simply through practice, repetition, and swing drills. The swing drills will break down the parts of the swing so it is easier for your brain to integrate, and practice will ingrain this new powerful swing.
