I Recently Needed to Jump Start My Golf Fitness Program!

I hit a plateau a month or so ago with my workouts. I felt like I was in a little rut, not making the gains that I wanted with my goals.

I can remember the day, August 31st . I decided I needed to change things up a little with my workout routine, so I reset some of my targets and decided to lose a few unwanted pounds of blubber.

Chiropractic Treatments Good or Bad?

I know some controversy exists around the field of chiropractic care. Some people swear by it and others are very skeptical.

This week I am going to give you a little insight from the PGA Tour and my personal experiences with chiropractic care.

I can tell you right off the bat the medical staff traveling with the PGA Tour enlists both massage therapists and chiropractors.

I can also tell you a large majority of the players on tour utilize both massage therapists and chiropractors during the season.

So, if the best golfers in the world use massage therapists and chiropractors to keep them on the course, I would probably say it is safe and the amateur can benefit from such treatments.

Now on a personal side and again this is my personal opinion on chiropractic care I find it to be beneficial.

You all know I do a lower back flexibility and strengthening program first thing in the morning, every day, similar to what you can find in my 14 Days to a Stronger More Flexible Lower Back.

In addition I do a golf fitness program four times a week based on the information found in both my Your Body & Your Swing and One-Up Advanced Golf Fitness programs.

All-in-all the combination of these two programs keep my lower back and body in good shape.

But every once and awhile something will get "out-of-place".

Not often but once and awhile and this happened the week of the PGA Championship.

I finished my golf fitness workout, headed back to my hotel, got out of the car, and something just shifted in the my lower back.

I essentially threw my lower back out! The last time this happened to me was 5 years ago in spring training with the San Diego Padres.

I could feel my hips were out of alignment and my whole lower back was tight.

I knew what had happened and what the prescribed treatment would be to get me fixed up.

This little injury would require a combination of massage therapy and chiropractic care.

There was no chance of me getting out on the links until I got my back re-aligned.

After two chiropractic treatments and one massage session I was feeling good.

My hips and spine were aligned and the tightness in my lower back was gone.

At times our spine will get out of alignment and cause a whole bunch of problems. These are the situations where I find chiropractic care to be beneficial.

Again, there will always be some controversy surrounding chiropractic care, but I personally do find it part of the equation to better health and wellness.

Make It Happen!
